HempsteadWorks Donates to the Inn.

Demonstrating compassion is normal operating procedure for the staff of HempsteadWorks.  This attribute is combined with cutting-edge knowledge in the service of the over 25,000 individuals who visit the HempsteadWorks Career Center each year, seeking to find a job, attain occupational skills and develop their careers.  All of these tasks are more challenging these days, due to the tightened labor market.  Nevertheless, the kind of people who see a need and feel compelled to help, do so both as a vocation, and as an avocation.

With this in mind, it’s no surprise that this past June the HempsteadWorks staff collected clothing and food for the guests in the Interfaith Nutrition Networks’ Family Emergency Shelters, along with participants in the Long Term Housing Program.  Joseph L. Barry, Director of Fundraising for the Interfaith Nutrition Network (Inn), has thanked HempsteadWorks on behalf of the guests of the Mary Brennan Inn soup kitchen.  He stated that “those in the Long Term Housing Program will be presented with the housewarming baskets donated.”

Mr. Barry also stated that “the staff and the guests of The Inn felt blessed by the special group of people from HempsteadWorks who look beyond their own needs and generously share with others.  Each donated item makes a big difference in the lives of those they help.”
