Message from WIB Chairperson

The Town of Hempstead Workforce Investment Board (WIB) oversees HempsteadWorks in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. HempsteadWorks is a system that integrates the services of a variety of organizations serving employers and job seekers in the Town of Hempstead/City of Long Beach area.

As the WIB Chairperson, a business person and an active member of our community, I am extremely optimistic and excited about the high quality of information and services that this system provides. Both are provided through a partnership of local businesses, government, education, labor and human services organizations.

Through this partnership, twenty separate, local, federal and state employment, education and training programs are integrated into the single "One-Stop" delivery system entitled HempsteadWorks.

Because of this integrated approach, employers can recruit new workers, obtain labor market information and learn about financial incentives with a single telephone call to (516) 485-5000, extension 1105, or by visiting www.hempsteadworks.com. Job openings may also be listed on-line or by fax at (516) 485-5009.

Businesses are welcome to visit the HempsteadWorks Career Center, located within the Hempstead Executive Plaza at 50 Clinton Street, Suite 400, Hempstead, New York. Many employers utilize the center to conduct recruitment presentations and on-site interviews.

I urge you to contact us today to utilize our services and take advantage of our resources.

Very truly yours,

Ann Steinger

WIB Chairperson
